Global Learning

Global Learning Curriculum Statement
At Charlestown we are striving to be global citizens, who are considerate and curious about the world around us. By having a strong link to a school in Uganda, we hope to build a community of support and inspiration. With this link the children gain first hand experiences and connections to other children from these schools which makes global thinking more “real” for them. Our curriculum is approached with a global conscience to ask questions of the wider world, for instance, considering the experience of money from another economy’s perspective. Children thrive on this exploration and discovery that shapes their knowledge and understanding.
Global Learning Home Learning Week
Miss Taylor travelled to Uganda as part of the British council connecting classrooms project. This project makes links between schools across the world and Charlestown Primary School has been lucky enough to have been linked to Nagongera Primary School in Tororo, Uganda. A focus of the trip is to build relationships and support the United Nations Global Goals initiative. Miss Taylor had a fantastic experience and has many stories to share with the children.
